• Blackboard Access & Information

    What is Blackboard?

    Blackboard is CCAC's course management system used for Internet, Hybrid and technology supported courses. Blackboard is accessed through the Internet; therefore there is no software to install or download to your computer.     Internet and Hybrid Students using Blackboard

    Obtaining a NetID account

    Internet and Hybrid students will receive a letter from the Online Learning  (OL) Center prior to the start of the semester regarding their NetID account and information on logging in to CCAC’s Blackboard system.

    • You can create your NetID account at netid.ccac.edu
    • The OL Center will typically begin sending out information three (3) weeks prior to the start of the Online Learning Term.
    • Letters will be mailed to all students who register up to two business days prior to the start of the semester.
    • Students who do not receive a letter or registered after two business days prior to the start of the semester must call the ServiceDesk (412.237.8700) and provide:
      • First and Last name
      • Student ID number  (Required for NetID account support)
      • Course(s) for which they are registered
    • Returning students will continue to use their existing NetID username and password from the previous semester.

    Important: You may create your CCAC NetID upon acceptance to the College.

    Accessing Blackboard course sites

    Access to Blackboard may be available three weeks prior to the beginning of the semester. Students are encouraged to login to Blackboard before the semester begins to ensure that potential login problems are resolved prior to the start of the semester.

    After successfully logging in to Blackboard, you will have immediate access to a course labeled “Welcome: Start Here” which is the orientation site for students taking Online Learning courses at CCAC. Students will not have access to their registered courses until the first day of the term. Students will usually not have access to their online courses until the first day of the class.

    Obtaining a NetID account

    In some non-online learning courses, instructors may choose to put course materials into a Blackboard course site. To access this online content you need a NetID and password. You can create a NetID account in a campus open lab or online at netid.ccac.edu:

    • Allegheny: Room SSC 321
    • Boyce: Room S588
    • North: Room 2004
    • South: Room L482

    Accessing Blackboard course sites

    Students will usually not have access to their registered courses in Blackboard until the term starts and the instructor makes it available. If you register late or do not have access to your instructor’s course site, please first contact your instructor.

    NetID: Student Network Accounts

    NetID accounts provide students with one main network account to access CCAC’s network resources including:

    • My.CCAC.edu single sign-on site for CCAC services including academic email and your Blackboard courses
    • Logon to College PC’s
    • Upload academic web pages
    • Access library resources from off-campus
    • Access Blackboard

    Please Note: Student passwords expire every 120 days. You can change or reset your password at NetID Account Management. If you have forgotten your NetID password or you are having difficulties changing your NetID password, please contact your Local CCAC Open Lab by calling the ServiceDesk at 412.237.8700.

    CCAC Academic Email

    All students using Blackboard (for online learning or traditional courses) are required to use their CCAC academic email account for all correspondence pertaining to those courses. Instructors may ignore course related email from any personal email account.

    Friday*: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    Saturday*: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    Sunday*: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 
    July 4 – July 7: Closed

    *Friday, Saturday and Sunday Hours: the ServiceDesk will be closed for the dinner/lunch hour on Friday and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. You may leave a voicemail message and received a call back after the scheduled break times. 

    ServiceDesk is always closed for any CCAC holiday college-wide closures.

    Fall/Spring Hours of Operation

    Monday through Thursday: 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
    Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
    Sunday: 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.*

    *Sunday Hours: the ServiceDesk will be closed for the dinner hour on Sundays only between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.; callers may leave a voicemail message and receive a call back after 6:00 p.m.

  • Need a NetID?

    Current students or employees wishing to use the CCAC network on campus or login to any services such as Academic Email, Blackboard or CCAC Central e-Services must have a valid network account. Current students may create/reset their password at  NetID Account Management - self-service password reset for their NetID. Students can explore Technology Services here. New employees must have their supervisor send in a Network Account Request Form. More information on Employee Network Accounts can be found here.  You can always call the ServiceDesk at 412.237.8700 if you have any questions or concerns.
  • CCAC Academic Email System

    You can access your academic email through MyCCAC. You will be directed to the CCAC sign-on page, where you will enter your CCAC NetID and password. After logging in, scroll down to the My Email web part and click on the Academic Email link. If you do not have a NetID, you can use NetID self-service or contact the CCAC ServiceDesk.
