Foundation is the fundraising and benefactor arm of the college. It seeks to
create vital connections between the college and the wider community
to ensure the ongoing viability of the college.
Co-sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the CEBS Program is a course curriculum covering the legal, financial and organizational framework within which employee benefit plans must function. The Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation has helped over 100,000 professionals grow in their careers. The CEBS program offers four distinct certifications for those working in employee benefits and compensation:
The CEBS Designation is a total compensation credential that is recognized for the depth and breadth of critical knowledge that it provides. It draws from the GBA, RPA and CMS curriculum to build a total compensation perspective. To become a CEBS, you must complete six required courses and two electives.
Each of the specialty designations - Group Benefits Associate (GBA), Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) and the Compensation Management Specialist (CMS) - requires completion of two CEBS courses and one elective for each designation. All courses provide the core knowledge needed by benefit and compensation professionals. The specialty designations are distinct, yet complementary and aligned with the natural career development paths of the industry.
For those new to the benefit field, CEBS can provide a solid knowledge base of the concepts and principles upon which employee benefit plans are designed. For the experienced benefit professional it can be a valuable refresher course, providing public recognition and respect for their expertise.
Individuals participating in the CEBS program represent all sectors of the employee benefits - plan sponsors, consulting firms, insurance companies, banks, administration, law, investment and accounting firms, labor organizations and other compensation and human resource functions.
