PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) South Campus Theatre Company, Food for Groundlings, presents Shakespeare’s classic revenge play Julius Caesar at 8:00 p.m. June 6 through June 8, and June 14 and 15. The company is presenting its inaugural production to the public free of charge.
Over 410 years after its first performance on the stage of London, England’s Globe Theatre, the tragedy of Julius Caesar still resonates with relevance and power in a politically turbulent age. Food for Groundlings has revived the classic tale of vengeance and loyalty for the CCAC–South Campus stage.
“By taking a fresh approach to a timeless masterpiece, the company aims to not only appease Shakespeare aficionados, but aims to introduce a new generation to the Bard’s magnificence,” says Jon Heidenreich, director.
