PITTSBURGH—Community College of Allegheny County North Campus student John McCabe helped his team to finish first at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Golf Tournament, held May 6–8 at Cumberland Country Club in Cumberland, Maryland. The team comprised students from colleges in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. McCabe also finished in third place among all the golfers, posting a two-day total of 157 (76, 81).

A resident of Sewickley majoring in General Studies, this is the final season at CCAC for McCabe, 21, who recently attempted to qualify for the U.S. Open. He will continue to play at Western Pennsylvania Golf Association events.
