CCAC president to host QB’s BBQ during college-wide enrollment open house on November 12

PITTSBURGH—Quintin Bullock, president of the Community College of Allegheny County, will be presiding over the grill and serving up two of his famous barbecue specialties, Texas potato salad and lemonade, at QB’s BBQ during Saturday’s Open House. The festivities will take place from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. at South Campus, main entrance outside of B Building, third floor. Also on the menu will be hamburger sliders, mini hot dogs, gardenburger sliders and cookies. QB’s BBQ, which kicked off last month at Allegheny Campus, will be repeated at all the campuses during upcoming open houses.

Enrollment open houses will be held at all eight CCAC locations on Saturday, November 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for prospective students and their families. Individuals who bring their high school diploma, GED or college transcripts can complete their CCAC registration in one day. Attendees can take placement tests, meet with an advisor and learn about CCAC’s program offerings in the arts and humanities; business; education, social and behavioral sciences and human services; health; science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and the skilled trades. CCAC staff will answer questions about admissions and enrollment procedures, financial aid options, transfer and career opportunities, and college services, sports and clubs.

Attendees will learn about:
• Associate degree, certificate & diploma programs
• Programs designed to facilitate easy transfer to four-year colleges & universities
• In-demand careers that offer strong wages & career growth
• Scholarships, grants & financial aid opportunities
• Day, evening, weekend & online courses

In addition, CCAC will offer program demonstrations at each of its campuses as well as at its West Hills Center. These include: West Hills Center – Mechatronics, robotic simulation; North Campus – Criminal Justice (lab crime scene investigation), Multimedia Programming Simulation & Gaming; Allegheny Campus – Court Reporting; Boyce Campus – Massage Therapy, Paramedic; South Campus – Theatre (performance from an upcoming musical).
