CCAC North Campus hosts presentation on the history of the Underground Railroad in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH—In honor of Black History Month, the Community College of Allegheny County is hosting a free presentation entitled From Slavery to Freedom: The Underground Railroad in Pittsburgh, Wednesday, February 25, from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m. in Room 3002 at its North Campus location in McCandless. Presented by accomplished author and curator Samuel W. Black, director, African American Programs at the Senator John Heinz History Center, the presentation will focus on the history of the Underground Railroad in the Pittsburgh region and the risks both slaves and the people who helped them took to ensure safe passage to freedom in Canada.
