PITTSBURGH-Alpha Mu Theta, the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society chapter of Community College of Allegheny County's Allegheny Campus, has won first place in the Chapter Video category of a competition sponsored by PTK, the international honor society of two-year colleges.

The video, which features a surprise cameo by CCAC Allegheny Campus President Dr. Evon Walters, was produced and written by Alpha Mu Theta members. The students will be recognized on stage in front of thousands of their peers at the annual Centennial PTK International Convention, which will be held in Kansas City, Mo., April 19-21. The chapter will also receive a $500 cash award.

In addition, Alpha Mu Theta's Officer of Leadership, Dylan Yee, a CCAC graphic design major, has won the second place award for convention pin design. Yee's design will be featured at the convention, and he will be recognized on stage.

CCAC's Alpha Mu Theta chapter was the only PTK chapter from Pennsylvania to win an award in the video competition or the T-shirt/pin design competition.

"This is the first time that our chapter has received this recognition, and we are excited to represent CCAC on the international Phi Theta Kappa stage," said Joy LeViere, co-advisor, PTK Alpha Mu Theta chapter.
