CCAC Men take first and second in Singles event
PITTSBURGH-The Community College of Allegheny County North Campus Women's Bowling team took first place in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Division III Women's Championship, which was held on February 23 at Princess Lanes Bowling Center in Whitehall, Pa.
In the final team standings, the CCAC North Women's team finished with a total of 7,636 points, ahead of second-place Westmoreland County Community College at 3,361 points. Congratulations to all the bowlers and to CCAC Head Coach Jeff Leya.
The Women's All Events Top 10 finishers include North Campus students Aimee Gmuer (Gibsonia) - 191.1 average; Mahriah Simpson (Wexford) - 176.4 average; Sidni Schibler (Pittsburgh) - 166.9 average; Victoria Swindle (Pittsburgh) - 157.4 average; and Cameron Nickel (Pittsburgh)- 156.6 average. In the Women's Doubles Top 4, the women finished in second place, with Aimee Gmuer and Cameron Nickel at a series total of 1,024; and third place, with Victoria Swindle and Mahriah Simpson at a series total of 1,019.
Congratulations also go to Jeremy Burton (Pittsburgh) of CCAC South Campus, who finished first in the Men's Singles Top 4 with a series total of 599; and to Shane McNickle (Pittsburgh) of CCAC North Campus who finished second in the Men's Singles Top 4 with a series total of 589.
