Global Passport Project

CCAC is proud to have hosted an event of the Global Passport Project, which pairs high school students with business executives to address real-world problems while providing an academically productive, socially responsible, problem-solving learning experience.

As part of the unique initiative, student business consultants from North Allegheny Intermediate High School and South Fayette Township High School were asked to create a communication plan for the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority on how to inform the public about combined sewer overflows. The students presented their business plan and proposal recommendations to Alcosan managers, engineers and education program representatives at CCAC’s Allegheny Campus.

Rick Adams, CCAC assistant vice president, Center for Learning, congratulated the students on their accomplishment. “I see the future, but more importantly, I see today,” said Adams following the presentation. “The skills you have learned and exhibited are the skills that industry needs.”

Global Passport Project is a collaboration between regional school districts, local, national and international businesses, the Community College of Allegheny County, the World Affairs Council, the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and the Arts Education Collaborative..
