CCAC & Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office team up to offer free social media workshop

PITTSBURGH—Philip Little, education and outreach specialist for the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, will present a workshop on “The Serious Impact of Social Media on our Lives” Wednesday, September 24, from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. in room 3002 at CCAC’s North Campus in McCandless, Pa.

The workshop will cover a range of security-related topics including how to optimize computer settings to protect privacy; implications of social media use on future employment; and identity theft concerns. Additionally, Little will provide information on ways college students, parents and members of the community can monitor and protect themselves and their families against unwanted viewing of their social media activity. The workshop will also include a question and answer session.

The workshop is free and open to the public and free parking is available onsite. For further information, please contact Theresa Smochko at tsmochko@ccac.edu or by calling 412.369.3683. CCAC North Campus is located at 8701 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237.
